Thailand: Explosion hits downtown Bangkok
- 15 May 2017
An explosion happened in front of Thailand's National Theatre in Bangkok on May 15, 2017, leaving two women slightly injured.
The two women were hit in their arms and were being treated in a local
hospital. The explosion, taking place at about 8:30 p.m. local
time, seemed to be a pipe bomb. Police and an explosive ordnance
disposal unit were investigating the scene. It's the second explosion near Bangkok's most important public square
Sanam Luang this year, following a ping pong bomb explosion that hit the
former Government Lottery Office building in early April, leaving two
sanitation workers injured.
