DC: Protesters oppose Keystone XL Pipeline outside TransCanada OfficeNews , United States - 09 August 2017
Protesters rally outside TransCanada office in Washington DC on August 08, 2017 in solidarity with the Keystone Pipeline hearings in Nebraska this week. The rally, organized by 350 DC, Rising Hearts, HipHop Caucus, Sunrise Movement, Sierra Club and many more organizations protested against the harmful impact of the pipeline constructions on the environment as well as communities in the area. They also called for divestment from Wells Fargo and other financial institutions, as well as personal divestment to defund pipelines and invest in preserving the community life.
TransCanada is the pipeline builder behind Keystone KXL and is now proposing the Potomac Pipeline in the DC region -- which might have deteriorating environmental impacts on communities and natural resources, according to activists.
