Florida: Bradenton crawls out under Hurricane Irma debris
- 11 September 2017
With much of Manatee County still without power, more than 30,000 workers have been activated to help restore the hurricane-ravaged grid across Florida, according to Gov. Rick Scott’s office. Irma, now a tropical storm as it moves north, spared Bradenton and Manatee County from some of its worst impacts. But the city and county are still dealing with massive power outages, storm damage and road closures as seen in Pirate City. The area remains under a tropical storm wind warning. There is the potential for tropical-storm force winds of up to 39 miles per hour through the day.
